The eighth edition of the Business Roundtable brought together 605 Ecuadorian exporters and more than 180 international buyers, achieving USD 342.7 million in sales expectations. The event promoted by the Ministry of Production, Foreign Trade, Investment and Fisheries was held from June 26 to 27, 2019 at the Hilton Colón hotel in the city of Guayaquil.
Of the 20 participating productive sectors, aquaculture recorded the highest sales estimates with USD 155 million, followed by semi-processed cocoa and chocolate with USD 51 million, fishing with USD 50 million and agro-industry with 20 million, informed Roberto Intriago, Vice Minister of Promotion of Exports and Investments.
It should be noted that buyers from more than 37 countries attended the event, supported by the 34 offices and commercial antennae of PRO ECUADOR abroad, among which the participation of Finland for the first time was highlighted. As representative of the Nordic country was present Victoria Nuottanen, owner of the company Kahvi Charlotta, who arrived in search of Ecuadorian coffee.

For Intriago, this event culminated with successful commercial appointments and continues to position itself as the largest business meeting in Ecuador, which will not only increase national exports, but also increase the number of new exporters, new destinations and new products. He also stressed that in the rest of the year, the MCEIP will continue to strengthen national exports with the execution of the business round of banana in October and crafts in November.
